Blandy Travel is a subsidiary of the BLANDY SGPS group, which has been in business in Madeira for a number of generations. The first Blandy in Madeira was John Blandy who arrived during the Napoleonic Wars with the British Garrison in 1807, and returned to Madeira in 1811 where he established himself as a wine shipper.

The travel agency has been operating on the island since 1958, it began operating shore excursions for passenger vessels in the mid-fifties, and expanded accompanied by the growth of tourism on the island.
