airlines offer direct scheduled services from the UK to Madeira- British
Airways, and TAP Air Portugal. There are also a number of charter flights. From
London you can be in Madeira in less than 3hours non stop
There are a number of direct flights to and from major European capitals
(Munique, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Paris, Madrid, Milan, Dusseldorf).
Flies from Gatwick to Funchal all year round, these are the scheduled
flights (with possible alterations): Mondays (Dep. 12.00-15.55 Arrival),
Wednesdays and Fridays (Dep. 09.00-12.55 Arrival), and Saturdays (Dep.
10.30-14.44 Arrival) There are outbound flights from Funchal to Gatwick
on all the days mentioned.
Low-price World offer fares are available year round outside the peak
periods.
Operates direct flights from Heathrow to Madeira on Thursday and Sunday,
departing at 16.25 with Funchal arrival at 19.55. The return is at 11.55,
arriving at Heathrow at 15.25. There are also several daily connections
from Heathrow to Madeira via Lisbon.

The runway at Funchal Airport has just been enlarged from 1,116 meters
to 1,724 meters and a new airport building has been built with state of
the art technology and a full panoramic view of the sea. The passenger
terminal is designed to handle 3.5 million passengers.
