Hikers have long enjoyed Madeira´s spectacular scenery and admirable walking conditions. Experience walking the levadas, the 500-mile network of irrigation channels that feed water down from the mountains. Choose one or more of these activities to feel the adrenaline rush in a breathtaking surrounding.

This long march tests even the fittest, using unconventional routes of scenic beauty, we recommend a good physical endurance for those who try. Courses from 5 to 50 Km. Remember to bring appropriate sportive footwear. Daily departures in groups of 8 persons (minimum).

Hundreds of miles on the levadas following the treacherous mountain outline. You’ll see indigenous plants, exotic birds and waterfalls. Daily departures, half and full day programmes with several degrees of difficulty. A fully qualified mountain guide makes sure the trip runs smoothly.

You can take part in an exciting adventure, equipped with diving suit and mountain gear making your way down a series of small streams. You have to be able to swim for this one. Departure once a week for beginners and for the experienced.

Come along on a charming horse ride over a 5km trail. More appropriate for experienced riders.

This activity challenges you to make your way up the basaltic rock plains of Madeira. You can chose to go with or without climbing equipment, although there are different levels of difficulty, they never become too treacherous. Book in advance to form groups of 6 people.

Whiz down the Levadas and dirt roads, through the forest and mountains. Test your endurance on the tracks were the Madeira cycling tour is held, only the strong will survive! Half day or full day courses, departures 3 days a week.

Excellent courses in several degrees of difficulty, for all experienced two wheel drivers. Departures 3 days a week (motorbikes 250/350 c.c.)

Slide across the ocean waters in Baia de Abra — Caniçal, Caniço, Funchal or Paul do Mar. There will be plenty of changes to exercise yourself as you keep the terraced cliffs in sight sloping into the breaking waves. Departures 3 times a week. Accessible to beginners. (Kayaks for one or two persons).

Raise yourself into the sky with a parachute, hooked to a powerful motor launch with a wire rope, as the speedboat gains speed you reach for the skies. An exhilarating sensation hard to beat. Departures 1 a week(1/2 day).

By launching yourself into the air, you’ll then have total control of the wing to direct you were you please. Flights available in several places across the island, departures 1 a week.
